Battle of the Books Teams & More

The Battle of the Books Club took a test to determine student placement on teams.  There will be 3 teams of 5 to 6 sutdents that will compete on June 25th at 2:00pm in the Multipurpose rooms. 

All library books are due June 19th, parents, please help students find their overdue books.  Our Seven Continent Club is growing as more students are finishing their passports.  It is not too late to join.  For more information see the library's web site about the Seven Continent Club.

Students were also send home a summer reading log from Barnes & Noble.  Students that fill out the reading log and take it to Barnes and Noble will receive a free book.  They can then get another log from Barnes & Noble and continue read and get free books all summer.

Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books Club continue to meet during lunch.  Students need to have read at least 10 to 11 books by our meeting today.  On May 30, there will be a quiz to decide team placement.

Book Club Meetings & Exciting Events

Don't forget the K-2 & 3-5 Book Clubs meet this week.  K-2nd Grade will meet Thursday, March 14th at 8:00am and discuss Jumanji.  3rd through 5th Grade will discuss The Journey that Saved Curious George. We will then use Google Earth to follow the path the Rey's took to escape the Nazi's.

Discussion questions for both clubs are available on the website.

Congratulations to all the Storytellers at the Garner Storytelling Festival, I received many positive comments on how well they did.  Breakfast and a Book was also a big success with great attendance.  We hope that you have a great track out.  Remember you can still joing the Seven Continent Club, all you need to do is read, read, read!!!!  See the library website fore more details.

Culture Arts Night

The Specialists will be hosting Culture Arts Nights on Tuesday, February 12th 6:30-8:00pm.  All students are welcome to come and bring their family.  There will be 6 centers and students and parents will rotate with their grade level. The centers will include Storytelling, Musical Performances, Art project, Physical Education Activity, Spanish and a Technology Activity. 

Our Storytelling Club needs to meet in the library at 6:20. They will be performing for all grade levels so they will stay in the library for most rotations.  See you there.
