Please sign up to volunteer for the Book Fair

Parents,
The "Read, White & Blue Book Fair is coming!"  You should have received information about signing up to volunteer through the PTA newsletter.  Please feel free to send that in, but I am going to try something new this year.  I have created a volunteer link for the book fair through VolunteerSpot.com to try and make it easier.  This website is also suppose to send reminders out.  Please volunteers, the book fair cannot be successful if we do not have an abundance of volunteers.  Our book Fair Co-chairs this year are Donna Hayes and Angie Ellis.  The link below is if you want to volunteer through Volunteer Spot.

Book Clubs & More

Parents & Students,
We had a great Orientation meeting for the Parent/Student Book Club.  If you missed the meeting, it is not too late to join.  Check out the library's webpage for information about the next meeting, book, and discussion questions.

Battle of the Books is well under way. We currently have 47 members and we had an animated discussion about the books yesterday.  Students can still join if they wish.  They will need to have read 2 of the Battle books by our next meeting Sept. 27th.  Battle of the Books students are encouraged to keep a notebook with questions from the book and to take notes about the book after reading.  Students that did not have a notebook were given one yesterday.  Parents, you can help your child by reading a book aloud to them or checking out the audiobooks from the public library. More information is on the Timber library's website

Dewey & I are excited to be back!  Thanks to the Deaton family who took Dewey on a nice vacation over track out!!!  We might have to change Dewey's name to Dewey Deaton Decimal!  We can't wait to have everyone come to library the first week for orientation.  Our orientation will cover HOWLing in the library and computer lab, library and computer lab procedures, internet safety and CHECKING OUT BOOKS!  YEAH!   Thanks again to the Deaton's for taking care of him and providing him with a new filter and supplies.  There is a library wishlist under my profile, but we always need Clorox Wipes and tissues.  Parents, you are welcome to volunteer in the library anytime.  We need help with shelving books, helping students check out, decorating, and much more. Welcome back!
